Who is Lockard & Williams?

Lockard & Williams Insurance Services, P.A. was established in May of 1990 by John Lockard and Jim Williams.  Together, they bring over 35 years of insurance experience. At Lockard & Williams, we appreciate our entire staff for allowing our office to provide quality customer service to our clients and their employees.  Our staff has grown from the original four employees to over twenty compiling of five departments:

Marketing

The Marketing Department is directed by John Lockard.  Our TPA specializes in Self-Funded plans, but also provides Fully Insured plans, Section 125/HRA plans as well as individual medical.  Not only do we bring in new clients, but we continually assure our current clients the best benefits at the best rates for their employees.  We constantly strive to make sure the carriers we provide to our clients are "A rated" or better.  We want our clients and their employees to feel satisfied with the customer service provided by our carriers and by our office!

 

Office Administration

The Office Administration is ran by Jim Williams.  Making sure all departments work together is often difficult in any business atmosphere.  At Lockard & Williams, we know it is what keeps our business ahead!  Once a Self-Funded group has been established, the Office Administration makes sure both the Billing & Eligibility Department and Claims Department understands what benefits are to be set up.  Plan Documents are designed and provided to the group.  Enrollment is entered and claims begin to be paid.

While the plan is in force, the Office Administration works with outside vendors to make sure claims costs remain reasonable to provide our clients with the most savings possible.  Our company continually attends conferences and seminars to keep on top of updates with healthcare costs and reforms.  As active members of the Society of Professional Benefit Administration (SPBA), we make it a priority to voice the concerns of our clients and return to them with answers!

 

Billing & Eligibility (SF)

Our Billing & Eligibility department mainly deals with our Self-Funded clients and has two fuctions:

 
Billing & Eligibility 

This sector is in charge of entering enrollments and changes for employee benefits.  It is their duty to make sure all enrollments and changes are done within the guidelines set forth by the group.  They also provide the Insurance ID Cards for the covered employees and their dependents.

 

COBRA Administration

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) gives workers and their families who lose their health benefits the right to choose to continue group health benefits provided by their group health plan for limited periods of time under certain circumstances.  The COBRA Administrator makes sure all COBRA election notices are sent out in a timely manner and providing answers to the questions and concerns of employees who have left their employment for various reasons.  For more information on COBRA, you may visit http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/health-plans/cobra.htm.

Claims (SF)

The Claims department also deals with our Self-Funded clients.  They have three functions:

 

Claims Supervision

Two supervisors handle major day-to-day issues between participants and providers.  They also assist with claims cost control by working close with outside vendors, nurse case management teams and other personnel contracted with Lockard & Williams.

 

Claims Adjustors

Our claims adjustors enter and pay claims according to the Plan Documents of each group.  They also provide customer service when needed for participants and providers to resolve issues.  Our claims department will assist participants and providers when a question arises with processed claims.  If you feel your claim was processed in error, please contact our office at your earliest convenience so we may discuss your claim.  We are here for you Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm CST at (228) 762-2500

 

Claims Customer Service 

Our Claims CS team takes countless calls each day to provide benefits to participants and providers.  They will gladly assist you with your questions or concerns.  If you need to know what doctor is in network, or if a particular procedure is covered under your plan or if you have reached your deductible, please contact us at your earliest convenience.  We are here for you Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm CST at (228) 762-2500

 

Support Staff

Our Support Staff continually helps to keep our office together by supplying materials, finalizing documents together and sending them promptly to our clients and carriers, as well as providing service with a smile to those that walk through our doors or contacts us by phone.
